After
This B&B has a deal with a restaurant
nearby for the breakfast, so we must go there with our vouchers for
it. Once our bellies are full, we can see a long line for the Duomo and
we leave it for later. So, we walk down towards the river until
reaching Piazza della Signoria, where the Palazzo Vecchio (Old Palace)
is. There is a replica of the David here.
We just need to walk a bit more to be able to go
across the Arno river through the Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge), which
looks like a jewel bazaar inside.
We go on until Pitti Palace to look at it from
outside, since we've discarded to get in. We play with the pack of
wolves in the entrance.
This is the most Southern spot we're going to be today,
so the next is walking back to the river to get some distance and
having a good view of Ponte Vecchio.
Once back in the North side of the Arno river, our next stop is the
Santa
Croce and, from there, we go to the cathedral but, since the line is even
longer than before, we go on until Santa Maria della Carolla.
After that, we get into San Lorenzo's market nearby and do some shopping.
We choose to get our lunch there: trippa for me and roast
beef for Eva. We pay 18€ in total. We pass by San Lorenzo's Basilica in
our way to our room.
After a short rest this time we join the line for the Duomo
since our time is reaching its limit. Inside, the access is just to
a small area by the entrance and only can see the altar from the distance
and we cannot see the paintings in the dome completely because we cannot go under it.
With this, we're done with our list, since we've removed the
Galleria
degli Uffizzi to have enough time for the rest. So we take an ice cream
in a terrace and go for a stroll by Piazza della Republica and see the
Porcellino before walking back to the hotel.
We will go out once more by night for a last stroll and get two slices of pizza as dinner by 7€ in total.
