After

We leave for our breakfast to the same bar than yesterday, but this time we add eggs, meat and some other things to it. This makes it is taking quite more time and we start our visits around 11 AM.
Via Mezzocannone
We do it by walking along the University in Via Mezzocannone directly to Spaccanapoli. This way we reach Domenico Maggiore Square.

We get into the Church of Sant'Angelo a Nilo to check the inside, since its outside has already catched our eyes.

We follow Spaccanapoli until Piazza di Gesú Novo, where we visit the church that gives its name to the square.

Our next visit is also in this same square, so we get into the Monumental Complex of Santa Chiara and join the line to get the ticket by 6€ and access the cloister.

The cloister is very beautiful and different than everything else we are going to see in Naples, with benches and columns totally covered with colorful majolica tiles.

The tiling is what stands out in this place, but the arcades around the cloister, with decorated roofs and frescoes, deserve their time too.

Besides, theres are also a museum and an archaelogical excavation.

Our next visit is at Sansevero Chapel Museum, where we find a long line at the entrance but, even before reaching the ticket box, the woman in the box tells us out loud that today is sold out.

So we keep walking through Spaccanapoli and, as we are reaching lunch time and I'm assuming we are not going to be able to go to the catacombs, we are going to the Monumental Complex San Lorenzo Maggiore.
Via San Gregorio Armeno
When we arrive it's 1:30PM and we look for a place to eat and the one that stands out for us here is Osteria Ippolito, which is so popular that we are told that we must wait around 20 minutes and we do it. We have an excellent meal with two different pasta dishes and two octopuss salads.
Piazza San Gaetano
After that, we pay 9€ each to get into San Lorenzo Maggiore Complex.

First we find the Chapter Hall and later the Sisto V Hall.

The next is to follow the signs to the excavations where we are amazed by finding an underground Roman city.
Macellum in San Lorenzo MaggioreMacellum in San Lorenzo Maggiore
We are told that the Basilica is closed and, when once back in the street, we decide to go to Donnaregina Complex that we couldn't visit the day before yesterday because I'm getting tired of not being able to visit places we want to see but, again, we find it closed. I don't have an explanation this time.
Porta San Genaro in Piazza Cavour
From here, we repeat what we did on Monday and go to Cavour metro station. It's time to use the day ticket, which is actually a 12 hours one. This time we go to Montesanto station, which is in the same line. There, we will be able to take the funicular to Sant'Elmo Castle, where wecan have the best views of Naples.

We have to go out to the street in Montesanto and have a short walk to the funicular station, which leaves us at the top of the hill in no time.

Once outside, we only have to follow the signs to reach the entrance to the castle. We pay 2.5€ as admission fee and start climbing to the top.

Our goal is to reach the top, where we know there are 360º views. As we are getting higher the views are already amazing so, knowing the best views are at the top, we are expecting something astonishing.

And that's what we have once there. We first spend some time in the area with archs, with views to the Bay and Vesuvius. Then we finally reach the top courtyard where we have the best possible terrace to the city.

It's hard to stop looking at this lanscape and, when we finally manage to resist to the spell and leave, it's around 7PM. We walk down to Vanvitelli metro station, which is in the same line than the one to the hotel: L1.
Toledo metro stationToledo metro station
But, before going to the hotel, we leave after six stops, in Toledo, for two reasons: to have a short walk in Via Toledo and to be able to see the metro station, which is popular by its beauty.
Via Toledo by night
We spend just a few minutes in Via Toledo, as it is already dark, and we go to the hotel after two more metro stops to Universitá. Before, we stop in our way by a Carrefour Express that we saw this morning to buy some foodfor our dinner.
