After

Since we went to bed early yesterday, we’re awaken already at 6 AM. We leave the hotel to Aeroparque Jorge Newbey before 9 AM because there is nothing else to do there and that resulted to be for good because, when we’re in the desk for checking in, we’re told our flight to El Calafate is in airport Ezeiza, the one far from the city where we arrived yesterday. So, after 450$ we paid for the taxi here we need to add 1200$ for the ride to Ezeiza, where we arrive 1.5 hours before the flight.

Aerolineas Argentinas checks in our big bag for which we have to pay 1700$ in a desk they have for this. The flight takes off on time, 12 PM, and reach El Calafate at 3 PM. In the way we could have a glimpse of the vast semi-desert plains of Patagonia.
El Calafate Airport
In the small El Calafate airport we pay 350$ per person for a transfer to the hotel and finally arrive at Karut Josh Inn, where we’re welcomed with lots of kindness and amazing views to Lago Argentino (Argentinian Lake).

We leave the place to the town center since there is no place to eat nearby. We finally choose restaurant Le Lechuzita, where we share a “plancheta de ternera” (grill of beef) for two and a couple of submarines as dessert (chocolate bars melt in hot milk) by 1500$.

When we try to hire our tours we’re told there are no places for “Rios de Hielo Express” until Friday, the day we’re leaving, so we must choose between “Rios de Hielo Gourmet” or nothing. We take it by 7000$ each. It’s more expensive but it’s longer too since it includes sailing by Perito Moreno and a disembark. The lunch is included too.
