After
Once again, the roosters mark the dawn. We agreed with
the taxi driver from yesterday that he would pick us up at 9 AM and at 8 AM we go down to reception to get what they have for breakfast, which we take up to our terrace to add to what we had left from yesterday to complete a breakfast.
At 9 AM o'clock we finish checking out and get into the taxi, which drop us off at the ferry terminal in a few minutes. There we wait to board at 10 AM and to take a seat once on the boat.
The trip takes one hour and we follow the steps marked for what comes from here: take the bus to the parking lot, pay the $15 for the day of parking, drive an hour and a half to deliver the car in San Juan, after a short stop to fill up the tank for $1 a liter of the "expensive" gasoline (the cheap one is $0.84); and take an Uber to our hotel in the San Juan's Old Town.
We check in and go out for lunch. We go to the restaurant
they recommend: El Jibarito. There we order a Christmas dish for me and grouper fillet with mofongo for Eva with some cod as starters.
The Christmas dish is a combination of pork ribs, rice with beans, pork pie and fried plantains. We pay $54 for everything.
We walk down our street, San Francisco, and the parallel one,
Fortaleza, looking at shops, until we reach Colon Square,
where we turn around and go back to the room.
Eva stays in the room and I go out to take advantage of the
hour and a half left until nightfall and I pass by La Perla, El Morro
and walk throught several streets to return to Colon Square.
From there I follow the wall of San Cristobal Castle until I reach the Capitol, for which the lights are already on.
When I return, it is already dark and I go up to my room after getting a piña colada at a nearby bar.
