Day
5 (May 14, 2026) Panda Center and Giant Buddha of Leshan
Before
This is the only full day we will spend in Chengdu, which is why it has been chosen for our furthest visits.
We will start the day by going to the Giant Panda Breeding and Research
Base, which is recommended to visit early in the morning because that
is when the animals are most active.
When we finish, we
will go to Chengdu East railway station to catch a train to Leshan,
where we will visit the Grand Buddha carved into a mountain.
Once the visits in Leshan are finished, we will take a train back to
Chengdu. Each of these train journeys takes a little less than an hour.
Once back in Chengdu, and depending on the arrival time, we could visit an area close to the hotel.
